Description
A common grackle that appears to be angry on the top of a shepherd's hook that is holding a birdfeeder. I recently changed to tube feeders and the grackles often voice their displeasure.
The common grackle (Quiscalus quiscula) is a large blackbird native to North America, where it lives as a resident or short-term migrant in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. You can find common grackles in wet, open woodland and marshes as well as in suburbs, parks, and agricultural fields. They also do come to bird feeders and can be a bully to the other smaller birds trying to use the feeder.
