Description
A beautiful tree swallow with its iridescent blue colors highlighted by the sun looking up into the sky. Tree Swallows are amazing aerialists that chase after flying insects with acrobatic twists and turns.
The tree swallow while mostly seen in open areas will use trees as nest cavities and also will use nest boxes. The tree swallow in this picture was near a next box when I took the picture. It was checking it out which made the resident bluebird not very happy.
During the summer you can these swallows near or using a nest box that are most often in open fields and marshy areas.
