Description

A colorful view of the hills and valleys along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I stopped at the Saddle Overlook which is at Mile Marker 168 on the Parkway in Patrick County, Virginia. The view from east had the sun in front of making for a hazy view. We turned to the west towards Buffalo Mountain to get this magnificent view.

This overlook is unique in that there are excellent views from both sides of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This area was once farmland, but it has long since been abandoned, and now the forest is growing back.
