A beautiful close up of a sunflower known as a "firecracker" sunflower. This common sunflower are a favorites of birds and bees. The flowers will rotate throughout the day to face the sun.
The "firecracker" sunflower is a semi-dwarf, well branch annual boasting large, bi-color blossoms. This short sunflower is one of the earliest to flower in the garden and has yellow and red bicolor flowers. Plants are loaded with branches. It truly looks like a July 4th fireworks display when it is in full flower.
It typically grows up to 2-3 feet tall and 8-12 inches wide.
